Our country changed that day, and while the kids are too young to remember (the little boys weren't even a twinkle in our eyes at that point), it is still important that they understand. So each year we do something to thank the folks who risk their lives on a daily basis to protect us. This year, like last, we took cookies to the fire station (NO - I didn't make them myself - that would be cruel). It's a little thing, but it shows them that we care, and that we really do appreciate what they do for us. And the best part - the boys get it.
So thank you local firefighters. and thank you to all the others that make life safer for all of us.
